This is actually the proper sendoff for Eli.
If Daniel Jones struggles mightily and gets lit up, then Eli can finish out the year without having to deal with Phil from Toms River screamng "Put in Daniel, Letz see what da kid's got already".
If Daniel Jones balls out, then Eli can bow out gracefully knowing that hes left QB1 in good hands and that the right decision was made.

. There's no easy way to send off a franchise legend, especially with the way he's been playing the last few years. Not everyone can go out like Michael Strahan. I'll always have respect for Eli and what he brought to the team and the city
But it's the Jones era now and it's better to see what he's got now so it'll help in the long run.
