Not gonna front and act like I've seen all the Bond flicks, but Casino Royale is clearly the best Bond movie to come out in the last 30 years. I don't get the Skyfall love beyond some of the cinematography.

I'm a Bond expert brehwell at least a fiend/fanatic and trust me, Skyfall is heads and tails above a lot of the movies in the series. Damn near any Roger Moore flick and better than any Brosnan flick maybe except for Goldeneye or it's at least a toss up.
Skyfall is not as good a movie as Casino Royale, "Bond expert" or no Bond expert.

Spinoff.. How do we feel about Idris Elba being bond ? If he doesn't get good scripts the naysayers will be like "see, the black bond was wack". I mean he can pull it off but he needs an intro as good as casino royale.
I never liked Brosnan. He came off as too soft for me. I liked Roger Moore a lot and Daniel Craig I like too. In my humble opinion, Bond movies haven't been bad due to the main character, it's often the story that is bad or the supporting actors that ruin it.
With that said, I think Idris would kill it because he's an exceptional actor.

None top Goldfinger but Craig is number 2 imo behind Connery
Craig is number 2 GOAT Bonds fam. I used to stan Pierce Brosnan when I was a kid, and was skeptic as fukk about Craig (so much so that I only watched Casino Royale AFTER Skyfall came out). But when I saw D.C. in action, much like @keepemup I realized that Brosnan was a little too soft to be a special agent of James Bond's caliber.
Casino Royale showed how tough a man really has to be to be smooth and effective as a special agent fam. Being Bond requires more than mere charm (which I still think Brosnan had in abundance).
And after watching a couple of Connery videos as Bond I realized that he and D.C. are of the same cloth. Charming but fierce and energetic to their very core.

i always wondered how he got rescued after he got shot fell in a river from a tall bridge. Did i miss something? They show him banging some chick but never show how he got out.
Or how bardem knew where everyone would be in advance when he escaped (when he presses that remote and the train almost lands on top of bond ).
And they should get sued by home alone for that ending. I think the bond writers are lazy as shyt. They know the franchise is gonna sell no matter what

He'd be cool although I always say he's getting too old to pull it off. But I also think it's moot since they normally go for unknown or at least little known actors to be Bond

Lazenby gets shyt on alot but IMO he's a top favorite for me and starred in the greatest 007 film made to date. Only other actors ranked higher are Sean "Da Gawd" Connery and Timothy Dalton who was pretty much in essence an 80s version of Craig. Problem for him at the time of his run was that Bond fans were still in Roger Moore mode and the climate for a more serious Bond wasn't yet realized so he kinda suffered box office-wise.
