DC was in a real tough spot here, I feel for him.

Yes it was two days notice, but AS is still the GOAT. The fact that he was able to hurt DC at the end of the third is proof enough that DC still had to fight cautiously.
Silva was untrained and 2 months post-major surgery, and DC had 10 to 20 lbs on him....A DC who was training to fight Jon Jones, the greatest fighter ever...You would think he would be SUPER READY to SMASH Silva to a pulp...

Weidman faced a Full Fight Camp Silva and KOed him, then broke his body...

Certain fighters have "it" and others are just "game plan to a paycheck" fighter...I don't even think DC was planning to win against Bones...He was probably just trainning to not get submitted, go 5 rounds and earn a fat check...:russ:

Dude wasn't ready to fight...

Weigh the risk vs the reward. He gets nothing out of standing with Anderson, except the approval of the crowd & viewers...IF he wins that way.

And why is it his job to be entertaining in the octagon? The sport is supposed to be inherently entertaining because of the skill level & danger. So all DC has to do is use the best style to win. The rest is up to the matchmaker(s) and his competition.
If it was a healthy full camp Silva, I wouldn't have made this thread...

But this was Silva 2 months post-major surgery with no training versus a DC who trained for the best fighter now...

I don't think DC would beat Anderson Silva in a street fight...

Out of shape ? DC always looks like that. He's not a "ripped" guy
He is OUT OF SHAPE...

Dude is probably 240 out of competition...Silva fights at 185 and he weighed in at just under 200, that is a fighter who has control of his regimen...

With a proper fight camp, Silva cuts maybe 5 to 10 lbs...Easy work...And Silva is not "ripped"

He was SUPPOSED to fight as cautiously as possible. He said it himself if he had lost that fight it would have been a disaster for him. He was supposed to be fighting for the undisputed LHW belt he couldn't risk losing to a career MW that hasn't had any impressive victories in years. use your fukking heads.

I Cain out of shape because he has plenty of extra body fat but he has great cardio. Some guys are just never gonna look like Jones or even silva.

Fought like a p*ssy, beating the breaks off of Anderson would have great pr move for him, but he has played it cautious and Anderson actually got a new unneeded boost

This even more pronounced when you consider the fact that Chris Weidman stood toe to toe with 100% Silva...

But DC was scared to attempt to demolish an untrained Silva post-gallbladder surgery...No excuses...He wasn't ready for Jones...Fcuk a game plan...

He fought the best fight for himself and he got the win and that is exactly what he was supposed to do. What was he supposed to do? Brawl with Anderson just for the crowd's approval and possibly get knocked out or do what he does best in order to win? I think we all know the right answer.

DC's the champ and Chris Weidman got rockhold problems lmao, DC's never been stopped in fight Weidman's has.

The object is to win, he won. DC would destroy Weidman.

Fighters train for their fighter. Cormier trained for Jones. For both Silva and Cormier it's extremely hard to take a fight on that short of a notice. Do you think Cormier is gonna go out and risk a loss not doing what his bread and butter is in this situation? Maybe if he had more time to specifically train for Silva he would have been more confident to battle with him, but he stuck to what he knew was gonna guarantee him victory.

Even if both trained for each other the fight would of ended up the same

Cormier ain't standing with Anderson any day of the week
