I'd be super down for them setting it up like they're gonna have the match, then just go "Nah. Instead, Bryan is gonna be a Heyman guy", and give Paul stuff to do while Brock is off being MIA, and then just let Paul talk up how Bryan can - and will - tie everyone he wrestles into tiny little knots. The best way to push the heel thing but also maybe keep him loved is... Don't let him talk. Heyman can dodge the Yes/No thing easily with his promos, and let Bryan just be a little jiujitsu monster hopping from leg to leg waiting to double-leg a bytch and bust out new submissions for the hell of it. Have him refuse to beat people with the Yes Lock, all that. Hell. Have him only want to defend the title in submission matches until he's forced to not do that.
