do yall have a 3 tier system like jamaicans or is it that all yall are dominican similar to ADOS?
i remember when some afro latinos got measured for their dna on buzzfeed i think, and one had around the same percentage of african as Dani

idk how afro latinos identify their selves in depth or in nuance.

with ados people we do not determine our blackness by how african you are, you can be less than 50% and still be considered black.

idk how dominicans work with something like that, alot of yall seem admixtured just like ADOS people to. but maybe yall diff. IDK.

For the most part as Dominicans we all see each other as Dominicans. Black white whatever. Another Dominican is a Dominican to us, even if he looks like Will Ferrel (we do have those beleive it or not).

Now the tiered system we did have from colonial times is

Spaniard from Spain
Criollo (Spanish person born in DR)
Mestizo
Mullatto
Zambo
Negro

Nowadays it’s less tiered, & is moreso colorism & classism together.if ur dark ur assumed to be poor but if ur not then ur status goes up. And theres darker dominicans with high status but its still an uphill battle. That’s where I stop the well all Dominican bs and ask why am I subject to povert bc im darker, personally.Not saying it’s a perfect racial harmony but there is a different dynamic going on than here in America.
