I don't know why people are trying to blame Byron Scott for D'angela development.
“I think it’s crazy (the notion that I can’t coach rookies). You look back on my career. I had Chris Paul when he was a rookie (at New Orleans in 2005). I gave him the keys to the car and he ran the show and did an unbelievable job. Today, he’s a perennial all-star and one of the best point guards to ever play the game.
Scott continued: “After we drafted Kyrie Irving with the No. 1 pick in Cleveland, I immediately gave him the keys to the car. To me, I feel if you’re ready, I am going to give it to you. If you’re not, I am going to make you earn it. It’s pretty much that simple.”
Kyrie came it at 19 years old and was putting up damn near 20 a game on 47% from the field and 40% from 3.
Chris Paul came in avg 16 and 8.
D'angela wasn't ready because he would wreck the car and look what happened. He wrecked himself off the field and now nobody in the league will ever trust him again.
Dude is a kid and I don't see how y'all don't see it. Tonight showed it even more that he still has so much to learn with that interview.
