If Lonzo is the player everyone thinks he'll be, and if D'lo is actually a SG like everyone thinks he is, coupled with an injury free season plus another year in Luke's system, plus the natural growth of young players, D'lo would've 100% had a better season than this last year barfing injury. We would be been able to make a better trade than this even in a salary dump . We just traded the 2nd overall pick from 2 years for a rental big they've been shopping around for years with no takers, the 27th pick, and a salary dump. So he could raise his value with his play. Since Magic got there he's never treated Russell like a player that he valued. Benchings, questioning his leadership and maturity, moving him off the ball, not saying he is untradeable, etc. We sold low on a #2 after two years.

its like the lakers front office saw the news feed and went all out on PG as if it was the first time they heard about him wanting to come to LA

they had ALL YEAR to make this deal. absolutely no reason to rush it when you get to look forward to what should be a perfect fit on paper work out between ball and russ in the coming months...

they can't even guarantee PG, LBJ, or Cousins is coming for another year. Why clear space now?

You're just very high on DLO for whatever reason. I hope he gets his career together but you seem very high on him just because we drafted him 2nd. Sure he has potential but so does every player in the draft.
