It has been long overdue.

Letting Bendis and King run rampant. :francis:

DC needs new blood and life at the top.

Meh, I know you guys don't like Bendis and I agree that Kings Batman run wasn't very good. But DCs problem was way before either of these men got in a position of prominence there.
At least I care to read Bendis' stuff there, I thought that Batman Universe book he wrote was fantastic, I'm enjoying his Legion run so far, and Scarlet, Pearl and Naomi were all solid.
His Superman run is okay, but I at least care to check it out (Honestly, DC has had a Superman book problem for a long time).

5G was DiDio's project so I'm guessing it's off the table now. The majority didn't want it anyways

I don't know.

All the doomsaying going around was that 5G was the last ditch effort to save the company, or else AT&T would consider not publishing DC comics at all and just use the characters for TV and movies. That would somewhat explain why they did very little to quell any of the initial bad press it was getting.

And they're too far along to turn back now, at least fully. They already alluded to 5G at the end of Doomsday Clock (clearly an editorial mandate), Flash Forward is supposed to have big implications for 5G, and a lot of their current books either seem to be wrapping up (Supergirl ends in May with issue 42, The Green Lantern Season 2 got cut from 12 issues to 8 issues), or have obvious filler runs that are meant to kill time until 5G starts (Orlando on Wonder Woman, Tynion on Batman, Venditti on Justice League).

At best, they'll just release the Generations one-shots as planned and then move on.

I doubt the 5th Generation stuff will be included but the rest of 5G isn't really that bad with it making it explicitly clear that everything that has happened in the publishing history of DC actually happened.
But if you were looking forward to the future of DC being Luke Fox as Batman, Capt. Boomerang Jr as The Flash, Jon Kent as Superman, a new Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Green Lantern then I hope you won't be too disappointed.

Luke Fox as Batman still makes no sense to me because he's not even that much younger than Bruce. So if they age up Bruce, they'd have to de-age Luke to make it work.

And why the fukk would they ever think aging up Jon Kent again and making him the new Superman would be a good idea? Did they learn nothing from Flash: Fastest Man Alive? :why:

I haven’t missed an issue of Superman or Action Comics in almost 16 years. I was here for it all, John Kent as Superman is the end of the line for me. They have treated this character so badly.
