He has a lot of the podcasts on the stitcher app for free.

is the stitcher app available on pc?

i just got through the whole Mongol series...fukking amazing.
i took a couple of Russian history classes in college and half of
a semester was spent on the Mongol invasion.

after listening to this series i now know that it was MUCH bigger than just Russia.

Mongols took out China, then Russia, then crept up on Rome, then took out India and the Islamic world...

:whoo:

they didn't take Western Europe for reasons other than their ability to do so.
China and the Islamic world were superior cultures compared to Western Europe before the Mongols showed up to fukk bytches and get money.

this left Western Europe as the de facto world power after the Mongols ass raped these other two civilizations.

fascinating.

I've bought a good few of the archived episodes of this, was needing something to listen to last summer on holiday.

The "Ghosts of the Ostfront" series of episodes on the Eastern Front of WWII is incredible. I HIGHLY recommend those episodes.

Prepare to have the :merchant: face a good amount of the time while you listen though.

where is this series posted? ITs not on his website

Bruh, I didn't even live in Russia for that long, but I still catch feelings when hearing about the eastern front. I'm not a huge believer in collective consciousness, but that shyt is an exception. Literally the realest war in the history of humankind, and it's left an indelible impression on anyone connected to it in any way.

I always get salty when Americans take all of the credit for "winning" WWII. No other country could have eaten a German army of 500k.

I finished the Mongol series, its definitely a must listen, my only critique is why doesn't he include the United States and slavery of Africans and genocide of the Indians as an example of the "benefits" of empire, he has a huge blind spot when it comes to American history, he swears america is a kind gentle nation

He didn't mention America once, so I'm trying to figure out how you came up with the conclusion that he thinks America is a "kind gentle nation". Given the way he talks about slavery and death in the Mongol/Fall of Rome series, I seriously doubt those are the views he holds.

He actually juxtaposes and contrasts George Washington to the Mongol leaders several times and mentions that the Mongols were not lucky enough to have kind leaders like George Washington

but my point is how can he try to use all these examples of how people have been killed to create empires and then not mention America, that's just :mindblown: he is living in a country that is one of the best examples of the point he was trying to make

It's obviously a huge blind spot he has, in sure his statement in the last 5 minutes saying that the people that got killed being the only true judges didn't apply to America in his mind, he says it with the conviction of somebody who thinks their shyt don't stink

But I'm not knocking the overall series, it's on point, I'm about to listen to the roman one, but at the end of the day you can tell he has a blind spot, it's just a mental note that you have to take into account when listening

He was talking about comparatively, George Washington would be a "kind leader" because the Mongol empire and time period was one of the roughest and most ruthless periods in all of human history. I think you're looking too into things, don't think that was on purpose at all.
