I remember when Discovery, History, TLC etc. channels used to offer compelling and educational programming. Then they decided to throw all of that in the bushes and appeal to the lowest common denominator viewers for ratings.

Now all we have are reality shows about pawn shops, loggers and alligator hunters. I have seen documentaries on WealthTV that no longer get any play on the History channel.

Honey Boo Boo is "The Learning Channel" :damn:

Yeah, NatGEo took a dive for the worse with all this doomsday preppers nonsense. I used to sit back and watch that channel all day :to: Now it comes off like some pro-gun / right wing channel

The science channel has even cut back on showing some their good shows. Seems like every decent show has an appearance by Michio Kaku,,

With that said, I'm looking forward to:
Stuff You Should Know: Large Hadron Collider : Video : Science Channel

History Channel- basically conspiracy central. aliens, ghosts, secret societies, prophecies, etc.

Animal Planet- same few big predators again and again or bigfoot.

Discovery- reality shows about rednecks or Amish Mafia

It's pathetic...

People say it's about money and ratings, but I don't believe it for the most part.

Planet Earth got monster ratings.

We'll see how Cosmos on Fox does.

How long was the History Channel suppose to do shows on Hitler,Hitler and more Hitler?
:comeon:
Are you :troll:ing?

They should never stop, thats what history is about. If anything, add something into the mix, but never stop covering any region of history including more hitler

Id rather watch a show about hitlers diet in france than more ancient alien garbage

what about BRAVO, the queen channel of ubiquitous reality tv characters??

Bravo launched as a commercial-free premium channel on December 1, 1980 owned by Cablevision's Rainbow Media; the channel claims to be "the first television service dedicated to film and the performing arts".
