I guess there was stuff under the surface that we didn't know about, like this substance abuse stuff that's coming to light now.
With all that said, I don't really understand how a father could do that to his children, unless he truly thought that they / the world would be better off without him. It's amazing that our mind is capable of taking us to places like that :-(
Yeah, my boys dad killed himself when he and his little sister were extremely young.
I don't know how it worked out but they were broke broke and after he killed himself something worked out. His mom's is an esteemed dentist they grew up in a nice beautiful house and didn't have to struggle financially after that. But then again his mom isn't a bird that spent money and he and his sister are book smart and financially savvy. They don't waste money and struggle from check to check or nothing.
Yeah he's black and his mom and sister are black and he grew up in a nice white housing development without a dad...but they werent broke or have negative attitudes or c00ns or nothing.
I don't know the fine details. I've known him for 20 some odd years and we've never talked about it like that but from what I understand shyt was rough and dad was fed up, didn't want his family to struggle and took his own life. Consequently his wife and kids never struggled financially. Never moved again (until they graduated and moved out). Emotionally and mentally shyt sucked but ever since I've known him and known the story he ultimately did what he had to do for his family to not survive but thrive.
And of course they miss him, it ain't all sunshine and roses but whatever angle he saw, it worked out. Like I said I don't get it because last I knew you don't get insurance for suicide, maybe he had some different policy or something.
