Nah man you ain't understanding what I'm saying.

In retrospect the 80s cartoons were cheesy as fukk. What is Bay's excuse? It's not the 80s any more and I'm not 10 years old. I'm a grown ass man, I expect to cringe and :what: at what I used to think was cool when I was a kid....I get the exact same feeling watching the new Bay "Transformers" though. Hell, the 80s cartoon movie is more of a mature film than his 3 movies. People always :whoo: about the Bay fight scenes, but the scenes between those are aggressively corny and cheesy, basically for no reason.

This whole franchise is about selling toys. Since they released all the movies so close together it's only so how many times parents are going to buy the same looking toys over and over again. This is why the toy sales have been on the decline for the most part with the last 2 movies. So in this one they are changing the Transformers looks to try to persuade people into buying new and improved toys.
.
you do realize that every movie a new batch of kids replace the old ones right?

:wtf::why: Breh who do you think the main demorgraphic of these movies are?, it's kids and teenagers!!! just like the toons, particularly young males, that's why the films have a lot of excessive humor and jokes, because kids, teens and young adults can relate to it. I'm not condoning those heavily stereotypical silly ass twins :ufdup:that was a step to far. This is a franchise about a bunch of robots that can turn into vehicles and fight other robots who do the same using energy swords, energy guns and shyt, talking about it being "mature" :heh:.

"Hell, the 80s cartoon movie is more of a mature film than his 3 movies" :dead::comeon:, the whole military and Pentagon aspect in the first film was far more mature than anything in the 80's movie or anything in the original series.

You have to remember that

1) it's designed to be a blockbuster popcorn flick
2) let's not act like the OG G1 Cartoons were on some cornball shyt (nostalgia is a mufukka)
3) it's being aimed for younger cats as well (despite the violence)

:beli:

You're talking about two different things. There is nothing inherently immature about fiction. Shakespeare wrote fiction, for fukks sake.

Look at this sentence:

This is a franchise about a bunch of robots that can turn into vehicles and fight other robots who do the same using energy swords, energy guns and shyt

What does any of that have to do with immaturity?

You're telling me we needed this scene "for kids and teens":

:camby:

There's a ton of scenes like that in all 3 movies for no reason. Just dumb shyt. The success of the franchise isn't hinged on stupid shyt like that. It's hinged on giant robots fighting. That's it. We don't need an extra layer of stupid shyt on top of that, for anybody. I guarantee if you if they cut all that bullshyt out, but kept the format the same it would do the exact same numbers.

One of Bay's problems is that he goes back to a screenwriter named Ehren Kruger. Here's a list to Kruger's resume for those of you who are wondering...

The Talisman (TV Mini-Series) (screenplay) (announced)
2014 Transformers: Age of Extinction (screenplay) (post-production)
2011 Transformers: Dark of the Moon (written by)
2009 Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (written by)
2007 Blood and Chocolate (screenplay)
2005 The Brothers Grimm (written by)
2005 The Skeleton Key (written by)
2005 The Ring Two (written by)
2005 Rings (Video short) (written by)
2002 The Ring (screenplay)
2001 Impostor (screenplay)
2000 Reindeer Games (written by)
2000 Scream 3 (written by)
1999 New World Disorder (written by)
1999 Arlington Road (written by)
1998 Killers in the House (TV Movie) (written by)

That resume can :camby:.
