This whole franchise is about selling toys. Since they released all the movies so close together it's only so how many times parents are going to buy the same looking toys over and over again. This is why the toy sales have been on the decline for the most part with the last 2 movies. So in this one they are changing the Transformers looks to try to persuade people into buying new and improved toys.
To me I don’t think it’s going to work, since they rushed and saturated the market. I feel the casual buyers they are marketing too are Transformer out. You will still have the die hard loyal collectors still purchase. But they won’t be seeing them high toy numbers they initially got from the first movie.
I am still going to check out the movie too. I like the first one the best. Two was trash and 3 was a decent come back flick. Lets hope the 4th is more inline to the first movie.

I can only pray that in my lifetime, much like the Nolan Batman movies, the Transformers movies will get rebooted by someone who actually grew up with the G1 cartoons and makes a modern version in the same style as the G1/Movie
