As far as Italians, that’s completely bullshyt. Low regard for them is a late 19th century/20th century invention. Their ancestors created the Roman Empire, it was the heart of the renaissance, Rome is home of the Pope, etc. Italy was at the forefront of advancement for most of Western Civilization’s history.

It’s not. Ireland is an independent, Catholic country full of ethnic natives. Northern Ireland is Protestant, a part of the UK, and many of the people are decedents of the Scots and English. It’s a complicated history. Starting in the 1600s, huge chunks of Irish land(predominately in the North) was seized and given to an English upperclass that essentially ruled over the natives until the war of independence in 1918. A precursor to Apartheid if you will. The people descendant from the Scottish and English upperclass wanted to remain a part of the UK and split off from the rest of Ireland
