For a brief period in middle school I used to tell my friends I was from New York lol. All my favorite rappers were from there and I was enamoured with the whole style and culture of that city, even though I'd never been there (and still haven't!). I tried my best to dress like a New Yorker and would sometimes put on a phony, terrible accent
I'll forever love New York rap music from the 90s, but I can honestly say I'm grateful I'm not from there now. The city doesn't seem to have much of a middle class, or even a solid black working class.
Consequently, New York has little to offer in the way of attractive black women.
Out west, people are more attractive in my opinion. In absolute terms, there's less poverty and we have a wider variety of phenotypes (not just because of racial mixing but also because of class divisions, whereas in New York almost everyone is poor outside of a few areas). The city really lost a lot of its appeal over the past 15 years but I'd love to visit someday. I'd only live there if I was filthy rich.
