I grew up in Chicago. I could not even imagine living in New York. I couldn't even stand the crowded sidewalks, public transportation and restaurants in Chicago; so I know damn well that New York would drive me crazy because that shyt is even worse.

Manhattan is not representative of all of New York City.

I've been to Chicago twice and I didn't find it to be that special. Nothing I can do there that I can't do in NYC but the same can't be said the other way around

I like New York, have a sister there and my nephew at st John's, but i just hate the East Coast in general all living close together vibe...motherfukkers on a top of each other like bread in a package

West coast we all spread out and able to stretch

And the thing about Cali is that you can visit the sea, mountains, and desert all in one trip. Couldn't see myself living outside of Cali. Maybe Nevada but I would never live in the East. No thanks.

What exactly does New York have that Chicago don't have?

I was in the military with a bunch of nikkas from New York. I used to take them back home with me all the time. I never met a New York nikka that didn't like Chicago. Not one.

Word, I never met a New York nikka that didn't like Texas

You should've seen the look on my cousins face when he saw a backyard for the first time, his dumbass thought it was a plantation

Had to tell that nikka he didn't have to wear Tims all the time too, son would be sleeping on our leather couch with his Tims still on :mjlol:

For a brief period in middle school I used to tell my friends I was from New York lol. All my favorite rappers were from there and I was enamoured with the whole style and culture of that city, even though I'd never been there (and still haven't!). I tried my best to dress like a New Yorker and would sometimes put on a phony, terrible accent:mjlol:

I'll forever love New York rap music from the 90s, but I can honestly say I'm grateful I'm not from there now. The city doesn't seem to have much of a middle class, or even a solid black working class. Consequently, New York has little to offer in the way of attractive black women.

Out west, people are more attractive in my opinion. In absolute terms, there's less poverty and we have a wider variety of phenotypes (not just because of racial mixing but also because of class divisions, whereas in New York almost everyone is poor outside of a few areas). The city really lost a lot of its appeal over the past 15 years but I'd love to visit someday. I'd only live there if I was filthy rich.
