I've said it before and I'll say it again, Lillard's clutch antics all have you fooled...this nikka is a no defense playing chucker. The only thing I like about him is his alpha mentality but I absolutely do not group him among other elite PGs.

It's true. This is 100% true.

For him to be as athletic and as talented as he is, he needs to be either

A: better at slashing
or
B: a better playmaker

before he can be an elite point guard. If you're not going to play defense and put up shots with wild inconsistency then you need to make up for it with one or the other of these. Lillard has no reason not to be as good or better than Kyrie with his skillset.

People are just checking out the box scores instead of watching the games. For one, the Blazers generally have Batum guarding opposing PGs, not Lillard. Their pick and roll coverage as a team is horrendous too, which is why these PGs keep having big games against them.

In the GS game last night, Curry was getting freed up by some great Draymond Green screens all game long and since he only needs a sliver of space, he was getting open looks all night (with or without Lillard on him).

yeah

just watching the highlights alone, u can see the blazers are really weak defending the pick and roll. bad communication all around. If u watch the cp3 highlights, they were running pick and rolls with blake griffin all game and either one had a wide open shot every time

kinda surprised curry didnt score more to be honest lol

when steve nash doesnt play D "oh hes garbage"
when other PGs dont play D "well nobodies really elite at PG"

:stopitslime:
This must be a Coli exclusive because anywhere else the argument is reversed. Steve Nash's abhorrent defense was laughed off and it became too egregious, they'd just blame D'Antoni.

that's not true anymore

:camby:

Yes, it is. Klay still gets Curry's assignments. Klay even guarded a knee-less Rose because Curry couldn't stop him. So, no, not even statistically is any of this true because he does not stick to his man. He guards his man for a few seconds, starts roaming around for steals, and ends up acting like he's guarding some random player by just hanging around them, or guarding no one. And Westbrook is rarely efficient. Curry has never had anything to do with that.

Of course the ATL
T'Blazers would definitely be better with Wall. If Matthews was healthy, they'd easily be one of the best teams in the league.

Nah. Wall/Lillard is a wash. Blazers are what they are: a competitive team that will maybe win a playoff series. Wall over Dame wouldn't make them a contender

respectfully disagree. wall is a better playmaker and his own offensive efficiency would improve being surrounded with matthews/batum/aldridge

people say alot of shyt, d'antoni didnt do shyt nash called all of the plays and they all sucked on Defense
I hate people that say it was system basketball, kind of I guess. But D'antonio just had a really loose philosophy in my opinion

Nash wasn't a good defender but he was great at drawing charges.

I cannot think of what Lillard is good at on D
