i know the south and west part of dallas like the back of my hand...went to club lew( lew sterret)...almost every other weekend..

useta hit dr watts ass up all the time in south dallas..

useta drop off anesthia, syringes, chlorxedine, scalers, and other dental stuff to the twins up at tds barbecue, when they were low key on the other side of the 2way mirror, puttin grills in nikkas mouths, and givin ol schools root canals, bridges..n pullin wisdom teeth..

only nikkas thats on that bullshyt u n the rapper stressin...nikkas from the north.. nikkas in the north side of dallas act entirely different than the cats in the south, too damn flamboyant

houston nikkas in dallas allthe time...houston nikkas in lew sterret right now...houston nikkas put drank in dallas, houston nikkas got more than one shop at big t

majority of the northside nikkas i have encountered always been on that competition shyt..

if a group of dallas nikkas from all parts came to houston right now...we could tell u exactly what hood they from...we did it everytime they came to the kappas...

when i was in juco..blinn...had dallas nikkas there..n u could tell who was who..south dallas west dallas nikkas had no problems...north dallas nikkas always ended up peterrolled carless n walkin down the feeder
I don't know man, it seems to be a lot of cutthroat dudes all around dallas. Not a lot of unity, oak cliff/south dallas do a lot of jackin' & killing, nawf dallas is more dope dealin', hatin & killing, groveside & nawf are very united because they all went to similar high schools. The same dudes that had tensions so high back then are now in their 30s with families, nobody has time for the petty bs no more but there are still a lot out there so to speak.

I had heard but didn't know tenstions between houston & dallas were bad in the early 00's. I was dating a girl from TSU & I went there to visit & it was like a damn civil war down there, I almost got jumped for wearing a nowitzki jersey walking back to her apt..smh

and u 4got Chicago n detroit

:mjlol:

You do realize that Chicago's most famous "sound" is a spinoff of a spinoff of a sound that originated in Memphis?

Infact, damn there every relevant "artist" today raps over beats that derive from of a style of production that originated in Memphis.

And the Memphis rap scene was heavily influenced by the Houston rap scene. Houston was on the map before any Chicago rap scene was even in existence.

And Detroit basically brought nothing noteworthy to the game, outside of making cac rap cool and acceptable. :skip:

kanye isnt influential? :usure:

If he's so influential... how come other Chicago rappers don't try to make their music sound like his?

Can you name any major rapper/producer that blew up using a sound or style of rap that Kanye pioneered or made famous?

BTW, Ye's patented sound, flipping looped soul samples over cinematic instrumentals... was done all throughout the 90's by DJ Paul & Juicy J and RZA too.

So he never really brought anything new to the game either.

And don't conflate fame & popularity with being influential my nig. Kool G Rap and Melle Mel are two of the most influential rappers of all time. Bar none. But are not widely known or famous. While Outkast are one of the highest selling and popular rap groups of all-time. But didn't really do much as far influencing the styles of rap of other MC's or the sound of their music.
