The Dust King
A Childrens Story
Daft Punk is a group that was really a stones throw away from hip-hop anyways. They sampled, their music was "beat" driven, they were sampled by Dilla, Kanye and others etc. Their first album was serious. Sadly this album has none of what gave DP that original crossover appeal. This is also a major release so sometimes its cool to see how a hip-hop forum reacts to it. No need to have tunnel vision and act like this isnt one of the most anticipated releases of the year. I dont see the need for the "keep it hip-hop, fam" rhetoric here, especially given whats being posted on here regularly. I wasnt even feeling the Timberflake album, and Im not digging this either, but who cares, we like to eat.
I know big biz is gonna dap you but you deserve more daps for this intelligent and coherent response.
honestly though I don't care about stones thrown though because if it was part of the rock you wouldn't need to throw stones.
also my statement is not rhetoric, on the other hand the "this is a hiphop forum when we feel like it attitude" is the true rhetoric.
this album shouldn't be stickied here and especially above other true school and all school hiphop, 2013 has had some great releases. that newport authority 2 was just one example.
So you can't be a hip hop fan and like house/edm music at the same time? You know they go hand and hand especially in todays mainstream hip hop
brother I've been to the tunnel and I've been to the limelight. I don't understand how you misconstrued my comment when it was clear as day.
I hope you aren't named after the "doowop" king sun because then you have struck a nerve with me.
as far as todays mainstream, why would I give a flying fck about that? that's as irrelevant as tetris mentioning "what gets posted here". I'm not a follower.
