300 murders a year
I come in peace

Haven't seen games lately from atl, but looking at the highlights and the record, it appears the trade rumors may be effecting the play of the roster, which gives the rumors some validity, or has the team been this up and down all season?

Just curious.

Respect :salute:

I think looking at the team's play since the trade rumors is a shortsighted approach. It doesn't take into account our questionable moves from off season, the rapid decline of key players or an improving Eastern Conference. Hear me out: Last year's Hawks team (the best Atlanta Hawks team EVER) was a combo of peak play from our entire starting 5, unexpectedly good play from our bench, great health and masterful coaching from Bud. None of that has carried over. Everybody knows about us losing DMC to TOR, but very little is mentioned about the decision to trade our #15 draft pick (Kelly Oubre) for Tim Hardaway Jr. That move was/is a disaster and he's spent as much time in the D-League as he has playing. Tiago Splitter, who was supposed to bring BBIQ of this system from the Spurs & rebounding has been hurt & inconsistent at best. The rest of the bench has been a huge meh (outside of Thabo).

As for the starters, everyone except for Millsap & Bazemore (who is having a career year even tho he's playing undersized at the 3) has regressed. Korver never recovered from the ankle injury and has shot career worst from 3, Teague is as inconsistent as he's been in a few years, Horford is pressing b/c he's up for a new contract in the offseason and he's shooting more 3's (not good) and rebounding less (even worse).

We also got rid of Danny Ferry and Ferry was the architect of last years team, he's not here anymore and Bud's arrogance (I call him arrogant b/c he sat starters to close the second half last season and this team hasn't looked right since) has gotten in the way of developing a good team

Overall the team is just not as good and barring a trade, will lose in the first round. This year has been a failure and Bud (who is also team president) is gonna have to be held accountable for this subpar product he's trotting out every night

I kinda of disagree, bruh. You'll looking at it from the view that they're not as good last year anyway (which is very valid), but what has taken place over the past few weeks is even more troubling because the chemistry have clearly fallen off. Something is up in that locker room. You have Horford playing soft as shyt as if he's trying to protect himself avoiding all contact in the paint, and you have the pg's playing horribly. While Korver has clearly regressed and Bazemore is erratic, I think @cornercommission2k12 is on to something.

I think it's a combination of all of those things, if you want to look at the Hawks recently then yea the trade rumors may play a factor but my bigger point is that this team has issues that date back farther than just a couple weeks

This team, as currently constructed, isn't built to be successful over the long term. Look at our bench, shyts frustrating to see Mike Scott, Shelvin Mack, Moose, these guys are marginal NBA players who are playing big minutes for us. It's just a bad situation overall

It's fair t say that you guys just werent as good a unit as your record from last year said you were. I refuse to believe DeMarre Caroll makes THAT MUCH of a difference.

And Danny Ferry isnt coming back @FreshFromATL . Whats likely to happen is for them to bring in a GM to take those responsibilities away from coach Bud so he can focus on coaching. I still believe you guys made a big mistake not keeping Kelly Oubre (sp) and just shipping him to WAS for Tim Hardaway jr. Kelly has a lot of upside. Yeah i know it's about the system and Hardaway made sense as a better fit into Bud's system right now but still.

You all will be okay, tho. No need to panic

The defacto GM is Wes Wilcox so Bud as team president isn't doing day to day GM duties. I'm not sure what ok means to you tho, making the playoffs only to lose in the first round isn't ok. Winning 60 games one season and then not hitting 50 the next season isn't ok. Team needs to hit the reset button...Al is a FA after this season and is going to want max money. Sorry Al, we love ya but not for the max. Bazemore is up for a contract, think about what he might ask for. Korver's done, does Teague even want to be here (and he's only got a year or so left on his deal too). Sooner rather than later these decisions about what this franchise will look like need to be made b/c they are all coming up quickly

I expected you guys to be right around 50 wins this year and be a top 4 seed in the East. Top 4 should automatically put you in the 2nd round as long as you dont run into the Pacers or Heat in the first round.

I like AL but he's not a C. Problem is it's not like you have anyone better to put there so might as well keep him. And while he may WANT max money i dont see any other team forking it over to him so if yo keep your cool and just wait for him to come to his senses you wont repeat your Joe Johnson mistake.
I always knew Korver was a fluke. Never trusted dude. He just had a great season last year. Thank God it wasnt a contract year and you didnt break the bank for him. I give th eprops to coach Bud on Korver because as awful a defender as he has been over his career, to see him actually play defense really impressed me. BUt he has since come back to earth.

Take it. Blow this shyt up & rebuild it
Give me crowder to help the team this yr instead of David Lee and I'm for it too. Take a kid like skal labiserre to develop at center.

The more I think about horfords age, inability to rebound, and the idea of committing to him long term...the more dealing him makes sense. He would net us the best package.
