If Hardaway Jr. can really come on in the 2nd half of the season, our bench will be pretty damn good with Dennis, Hardaway, Thabo, and Mike Scott. All of them have the ability to put up 10 pts each. I'm still not comfortable with depending on Splitter as our big. Dude is always hurt.

Of course the ATL
So it's the midway point of the year brehs

Team is on pace for under 50 wins :francis:

Still first in the division tho :yeshrug:

Negatives/Concerns:

Korver looks like a shell of himself. His 3 point percentage is one of his career worst (2nd worst of his career)

Inconsistent play from the bench (THJR, Splitter has been hurt, Mike Scott has been inconsistent, Dennis has been in Bud's doghouse at times)

Positives:

Bazemore has been a revelation as a starter, been much better than I thought and has brought us more scoring than we had at the 3 from DMC (not quite as good defensively, but still very active)

Millsap has been the team's best player & MVP. Might be the only All Star too

Thabo has come back well from injury

Outlook:

Maybe we get the 2 seed, but I have a hard time seeing us getting past the second round barring a major trade especially with Korver not being effective from 3 (his 3's last yr were the engine that drove us to 60 wins, his decline mirrors the team's overall decline). Depending on the matchup I could see us losing in the first round too, hope I'm wrong but this team peaked last yr, need to switch it up for this team to have any chance to advance

Y'all thoughts? :ld:

I'll admit I was wrong about Baze. He's shot the 3 at a high clip (42%). I agree with AV, Millsap is our MVP. We've gotta acquire another big, I don't know who's available, but a hard nosed rebounder around the rim would be great for this squad

On Monday, January 18, the Hawks played in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day game against the Orlando Magic! Not only did we come away with a 98-81 victory, but we also used the MLK Holiday Weekend to kick off our Black History celebration. Traditionally recognized in February, the Hawks got a head start and will continue to hold major festivities through early March.

Upcoming signature events for True Comes in All Colors: Celebrating Black History include:

  • 1/21 MOSAIC: Race & Gender in Sports
  • 2/19 True To Atlanta Community Award Presentation
  • 2/26 Hawks Mean Business Networking Series
  • 2/26 In-Game Black History Celebration | Hawks vs. Bulls at 8 p.m. Click here for tickets.

Of course the ATL
we need to fight like hell for a 2 or 3 seed

then hope Cavs implode with a combo of injuries and infighting

This team needs a trade. This team isn't doing anything of note in the playoffs as currently built. Being a 2 or 3 seed doesn't mean anything if the team's ceiling is the 2nd round
