I got a homie that is just like you about spitta. Like he trys to listen to his shyt, but he cant get really into his music. But he knows why people like him though. curren$y is a niche artist, so you are not in the wrong for not feeling his music.

That's my thing. I know he has his own lane that he's in and stays true to that. I'm not saying I want him to be Young Thug or Common and step outside of what he does best, but I just can't get into em. It's like there really is no difference from the time I really started checking for him again in 2010 to the shyt he dropping today. If you heard one Curren$y tape, you've heard em all

Niche means he an artist that muisic is aimed for just certain individuals. His music does not have mainstream appeal

I feel you. I mean, Nas is my favorite artist ever, but he's branched out on different albums and gives you a variety though. Now that I think about that comparison though, it's not valid as Curren$y would probably branch out different musically if he had to drop official albums like Nas had too so yea, I feel ya

You also have to factor in that Nas has been doing it 20 years and takes time in between those projects. The landscape of rap changes every 4 or 5 years or so.

Compare 94 to 99 when I am and Nastradamus dropped.

I think Curren$y's appeal more than anything has to do with the fact that you can feel his personality shining through the music. Other people try to fill the "regular rap" lane, but you really feel like he's just a regular dude rapping and just living his dreams.

yea i think thats why i dont mess with his new stuff as much either. I grew from 19 years old to almost 23 now but his music didnt i guess

Stoned Immaculate was the last drop i actually really messed with. Still play it from time to time.

Anybody mentioning New Jet City, Bales or whatever makes me go . They were all throwaways to me. A lot of em not even mastered
