alchemist has been in a zone since about 2010-2011. it's like he found his style and polished it to make it truly his. his style is like soul mixed with progressive rock, random obscure sound effects, obscure vocal samples, drum breaks chopped up, somewhat minimalist, and the whole thing ends up having a somewhat retro sci-fi feel but still soul/rock and hip hop. so many things i named, it could easily all spimd like a mess but somehow Alc makes it work. even the way it's mixed sounds "off" but still works.

if we were to compare to other producers, i'd say his style is like Rza, El-P, Primo, Muggs, and Bomb Squad, all rolled up in one. you can hear the inspiration but it doesn't feel at all like he's biting anyone.

Missed on that unfortunately. The grail Alchemist piece to me is Israeli Salad. Either version.
shyt it's cheaper than Covert Coup vinyl prices so far.

Hang onto that extra one and see how it plays out. People are listing on Ebay for up to $300 USD so far. I thought about Israeli Salad vinyl but can't justify paying 150 for a vinyl right now.

That extra Covert Coup vinyl might end up being not that far from Flygod vinyl prices.

How much were they running for ?

On the lowsky this .. f it really this album should be praised the same way we praise madvillainy
The retail was $50. 500 copies pressed. On Ebay I've seen it no lower than $215 and as high as $299.

Not sure if cats are just high-balling it to start things of or if people will actually end up paying those prices.

Like you said, it's a 2010s Madvillainy type project and an underground gem so it may end up being worth a lot.

Vinyl heads, how much does it cost to press up 500 copies of something? Is there a good profit margin if you're an artist and release your music on vinyl?

Yeah, FLYGOD has the crown right now as far as vinyl prices. At least as of recently.
