You're stupid, read a book.
Oh I thought that was a joke which is why I dapped that post. My bad.
You're stupid, read a book.
Haven't read a reply lemme see what this is all about.But they aren't doing it maliciously so why trip? @Guwop @RookieToVet @Fonsworth @aXiom @Peter Vecsey @Elle Driver @DarlingNikki
they are right to be outraged, do a piece on how to get curly hair don't call it an Afro especially if you're not going to discuss the history of the Afro or have a black modelI see nothing wrong with it. They aren't really stealing the hairstyle if they are only doing it for a magazine. It's like using quotes for their hairstyle. Y'all being sensitive as fukk over dumb shyt. I think yall just want to fukk these white hoes to be honest @RookieToVet
@blackestofpanthers
Imma be honest...I'm a black man that rocks a fade so I can't relate to why this shyt is such of an issue personally. With that said, if people want to be outraged by it, let them, but I've seen black women all day every day wearing hairstyles that are atypical for white women as well so it may be safe to say the appropriation runs both ways. But fukk all that, my question to this is what's the endgame in a critic's eyes?...What is the worst case scenario that could come out of white women wearing shytty looking afros? I think its just something else to be outraged about before next week's controversy.
On the other hand it is ironic that these features have been downplayed and shunned in the past by white media so I'm not going to ignore that elephant in the room.
that's the whole point! White people constantly tried to shyt on black folks and everything associated with black people. Its so bad that if a blackk person wears an afro to a job interview/job they might not workk because its a "distraction" or "unprofessional" even thon our hair does that naturally. One the biggest things culturally associated with black people is black hair and black hair styles. The styles name AFRO clearly associates with Africans. And now all of sudden white people think its cool? And then barely acknowledge the fact that the style is from black people?
Thiss is an example of that lack of respect for someone elses culture that a lot of white people and hipsters seem to always seem to have
Yeah, so what's the endgame now...is this a precursor to something worse or is this as bad as it gets?
did that so u ain't have to go thru that
When I grew up it was the black kids who teased me for having an afroI remember being a junior high and a white Latino girl said to me, "Why would I want black peoples hair? It's like having pubic hair on top of your head". There are a lot of young black girls who grow up thinking their natural hair isn't good enough because of the way this society functions. Now that a bunch of culture lacking hipster bytches are bored it's now cool to have an afro. No bytch, you can not have an afro.
I'll remember this the next time I wear my hair out in an afro, twist out, or braid out and some non black person ask's me, "Why didn't you do your hair? Are you going to leave your hair like that"
thank you for being the only woman on here to remain consistentAnd? It's just a hairstyle. Its not like they're trying to be black women, hair is an accessory let them be
Had to be a Florida comment. This is why I don't fukk with comment sections.English lady, Boynton Beach, United States, about 14 hours ago
So if this is racist,a black person with straight hair is racist not to mention those who can attend all black colleges? You can't have it all ways. This PC going into nitpicking overdrive!
