Because it involves alot of olympic type lifting .. and if youre an idiot you will get hurt ..

But then again if youre an idiot , crossing the street can be dangerous .

Well, as long as you don't try to lift too much I don't see it being a bad thing. But like you said, an idiot can mess up something easy. I would definitely do it just to build my endurance. I like a lot of the moves that they do and if I could afford it I would get all the way in.

Crossfit is unsafe.

It's unsafe if your coaches are shytty. There's a vid that's been posted here of people some type clean that is completely unsafe.

The box I used to go to had great coaches. Using what they taught me is how my dl got to 460 and squat to 425. The one thing I didn't accomplish was a handstand pushup.

It got to be too expensive tho and it was a 45 minute drive one way so I had to give it up.

I don't know how it works but can't you skip some of that advanced stuff and stick to a basic routine?

Not really. They have these things called workouts of the day. Basically they focus on completing your workout as quickly as you can instead of on safety and learning the correct form.

False....to an extent. Again like I said if your box is ran by shytty coaches then that is exactly what they'll do.

When I 1st started I wasn't allowed to participate in the WOD. My 1st couple of weeks were spent working on my form and I slowly began to add weight. I was doing squats, deads, cleans with 65 lbs until the coaches and myself were confident that my form was where it needed to be so I could safely perform the WOD.

What people don't seem to realize is that there are terrible Crossfit coaches just
Ike there are terrible personal trainers at regular gyms. It's up to the individual to recognize and point out to the coaches if they feel something is unsafe and to find another spot to work out at if you don't feel they are addressing your concerns.

I did Crossfit for about 7 months and never anyone at my box get injured.
