NO way.

I hated watching HHH wrestle. I give it to him that he was in incredible shape and a workhorse. But nobody wanted to see him. He wasn't the star in DX, no one cared when he held on to the belt. He wasn't even a good intercontinental champ.

Realistically he would've become a good booker backstage but he would have never gained the clout and power to start NXT or be able to come back as in that stupid Conan gimmick at WM a few years ago (when again no one wanted to see him and no one really wanted to see him get fed to Brock and the star was Nazi Rollins).

We're all assuming still that when Vince finally let's go it's gonna be HHH and Stephanie's business to run. He would've definitely been successful behind the scenes but no way at the level he is at now.

HHH really is one of those types of guys who were gonna be successful no matter what because he's a political animal.

Guy weasled himself into The Kliq as the junior member under Hall, Nash, and HBK.

Carried their bags.

He was actuall elevated by Hall & Nash going to WCW & starting the hottest angle in the history of the business with the nWo, because that's what gave Vince the balls to do something like Degeneration X

IF Hall & Nash never leave, he's probably a multiple time IC Champion and maybe gets a run or 2 with the belt.

But is he some "all-time legend" of the business?

Hell nah.

I love listening to Bret Hart talk about the guy.

Don't know if it's remotely true, but I always felt like Trips stole Shane's spot in the company...and that, no matter how political or as good of a booking mind he has, wouldn't have happened without him wifing up Steph... putting your son-in-law on to run the biz is the oldest nepotism trick in the book...my hunch is that Shane felt Vince favoring Trips and ended up leaving altogether because of it... without Stephanie I don't see him being THAT much more influential than some of the other boys that ended up with a voice behind the scenes

:unimpressed:

HHH is trash. If he wasn't fukking Stephanie he'd be Bad News Barrett status.
