This is straight up weird. Judging by the interaction she plays games all the time and dude was tired of it. He said the cops were on the way and the shooter went back inside to grab a gun anyway. He was itching to shoot him and knew that bringing a gun out was gonna set the father off and further escalate the situation and next thing you know he found a "legal" way to take care of his wife's problems. But we all know she's gonna leave him eventually and the stepson is gonna hate him and dude gonna have a body and nobody.

You're playing semantics because you can't debate the earlier point. End of the day it's his property and he told him to leave. The son is not there so he has no reason to be there. The man made threats to everyone in the house, then when the owner came out with the gun, he threatened to take his gun and kill him with it. Clear self defense.
