This is a hard one, dude had a right to pick his son up, baby moms was playing games. But ultimately he was told that his son was not there and was asked to leave but wanted to stay and argue. Kyle shouldn't have went and got the gun, but it's Texas and dude tried to grab the gun after making it clear what he would have done if he took it.

The father is there at 3:15 to see his son and the woman has sent the son somewhere else probably so she can play around with her new boyfriend while sticking it to the ex.
Frustrated father, who's left work early to come pick up his son is clearly frustrated and sees the games this hoe is playing. Threatens them with court litigation and the new boyfriend comes outside with a gun and he gets shot tussling over the gun after threatening to kill the brandisher with his own gun.
Maybe they're justified in court but that boyfriend may be eligible for street justice.
