Creed was a ten times better remake/reboot of a franchise than Stah Wahs The Force Awakens...

Nah for all the criticism Star Wars gets for being a remake for A New Hope Creed is even more identical to Rocky shyt the ending is the EXACT SAME it even dumps the realistic style of the fights earlier in the film to make a new generation of the old corny rumble and tumble fights of the old Rocky series.

So did the last fight of the movie resemble the last fight of the first Rocky ? YEAH they both knock down the opponent and the opponent gets back up right before the count is out and he wins. The fight turns into a stupid slugfest just like the old films as well.

1. Its a boxing film. So its sort of restricted by the possible outcomes and scenarios.
2. Star Wars is in ANOTHER GALAXY, FAR FAR AWAY and chose to make a good, but limited film. They chose a safe route when they had endless possibilities.
3. Waaaayyyy more obvious hints, winks, nods in TFA than Creed. Creeds hints are far more subtle and nuanced.
4. Creed works much better as a standalone movie than TFA. What makes TFA so *potentially great* is that the next movies will flesh out the things we didn't get in this movie.
5. Its just a better made film breh. Creed felt like world building (which to be fair is even easier to do in a boxing film) than Star Wars. Way too many coincidences.

ETA: I don't think Creed is 10 times better though.....just better.

It literally does the same things as the previous series Rocky takes Creeds son under his wing just as Creed did Rocky. IMO the same criticisms thrown at Force Awakens are bother me much more in Creed. Did they really have the last fight play out the same as the first movie ? Did the last fight have to turn into a Rocky part 7 after setting itself apart by having more realistically shot fights in the beginning in order to pander to fans of the old series.

Nah its was still slightly different.

Rocky injured Apollo in the 11th round. The 12th round consisted of Rocky beating up an injured Apollo and then set up the great ending between Adrian and Rocky.

In Creed we actually got to see Creed drop Ricky. There was far more tension in the final round. The music that was teased all film was dropped at the absolutely perfect time. It looked like he was about to win...and then suddenly he didn't.

We get to find out his motivation. We get an awesome speech from Rocky.. We get a brief moment of victory and then have it snatched way with Ricky able to get up in time.
