This is why black writers, directors & producers are so vital to black shows, and the Cullen brothers have a long list of Ls so i'm not shocked this show is a failure.

The black public complain about lack of black shows and they create trash like this thats bound to fail, just so they can say we tried and move on.

It's already done anyway. I have no clue why they retooled it as a multi cam when it was initially a single cam show. Think NBC shot itself in the foot on this one

NBC is about 2 years from just leaving comedy in the dust at this point.

They have no idea what they're doing.

I think Bob Greenblatt has a personal vendetta against single-cam, and he must think he can transform NBC's comedies into CBS'.

A single cam version of this and Jerrod's shows wouldn't suddenly become A+ winners, but they'd be respectable shots at quality entertainment instead of shows that feel like bad versions of an era that's hard to replicate.

I agree but to be fair they need ratings. They had single cam shows for a decade and that's how they got in the funk they're in. I'm not mad at them for trying to copy CBS's formula at all; I get it. But it's just not working for them

Fair. But it's hard to make the transition when you don't have a guy like Chuck Lorre putting his touch on a lot of stuff.

Say what you will about his comedies, he has a knack for not putting out complete bullshyt. People might not like his stuff, but he doesn't put out bad work. Mom is good, but if you wanna see an example of a CBS show without the Lorre touch, watch 2 Broke Girls, which has probably the most jokes per second of any show, and hits on about .5% of 'em.

I watched some of Mr. Robinson and I've seen the Carmichael clips, and they just seem bad. Like "how is there a room with 5-10 writers and that's the best joke y'all could come up with?" bad.

This show is in the wrong decade. Looks more suited for the late 80s-90s. Feels like a cross between The Steve Harvey Show and Mr. Box Office.
It wasn't that funny really but its one saving grace...

Megan Good in dem pencil skirts...:ohlawd:

:stopitslime: Any Network head that tries to copy CBS' formula is an idiot. Even CBS doesn't wanna be stuck in that Bubble long-term. Look at the shows their doing in the summertime these last couple years. They're even taking chances with off-brand shows (for them) during the TV season with "Supergirl", POI, & etc.

No they're not idiots because they have hit sitcoms which is the point. And they've been doing it consistently while the other networks, save for ABC, have floundered and even ABC doesn't compare to them. Yeah they take chances with things but they know their bread and butter and have an identity, which a network like NBC doesn't anymore. They're just throwing stuff at a wall to see if it sticks which is not the way to run a business but also not good for your brand. 10 years ago, NBC knew what it was even though the ratings weren't setting the world on fire, now they don't

Yup I agree. You need a guy as smart as him to run the show. 2 broke girls is terrible. I watched the first 2 seasons because I got a thing for Kat Dennings but she wasn't enough for me. I don't mind his shows, he has his brand, he knows what he's doing and he hires competent/smart people to run the shows for him. And on the real, I fukk with big bang theory. I'll never claim its the greatest show of all time or belongs in that pantheon, but I've watched the show since its premiere and that show and Chuck, along with Raw, used to be my Monday nights after class back in college

Dude, you and me are the same lol (BBT and Chuck, haven't watched wrestling in 7 or 8 years)

I've seen every ep of Big Bang, and yeah, it's not the funniest, but a Lorre 20 minutes goes by quicker and more pleasantly than any 20 mins on TV. I don't think there's ever been a bad episode of the show. Yeah, it's not Veep, but it set a bar between a 5 and a 7, and pretty much hits it every time, with the occasional honestly hilarious ep.

I still watch 2 Broke Girls lol, but at this point it's the only show I actively hate-watch. It's so bad that I watch to see if they can dig themselves even deeper in their pit of racial and sexual stereotypes, and goddamit, every season they find new lows :russ:

Her body is on some next level shyt on this show

Yes it is. My love of her and just genuinely liking Craig Robinson and Brandon T. Jackson keeps me watching the show but it's just not funny at all. One of the kids actually said "you might be a man but you're not grown" and then the laugh track went off

They created it as a show more in the vain of the office breh..NBC decided it should be a multi-cam show and it changed the whole dynamic so don't blame the creators. Craig has known them since he was on the office
