It doesn't matter which one you got. The protection offered varies over time, but they all provide similar levels of protection......

Covid booster shots effective against severe illness from omicron, CDC studies say
A booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine significantly reduces a person's odds of hospitalization from the omicron variant, new research released Friday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finds.

The three new studies from the agency are among the first to look at the vaccines' impact against omicron in the United States, which now accounts for more than 99 percent of new cases in the country.

The research underscores the importance of booster shots to protect against severe illness from the rapidly spreading variant. Though cases are beginning to decline in some hard hit areas, such as in the Northeast, much of the nation's hospitals remain overwhelmed with Covid patients.

"Protection against infection and hospitalization with the omicron variant is highest for those who are up to date with their vaccination, meaning those who are boosted when they are eligible," said CDC director Dr Rochelle Walensky during a White House Covid Task Force briefing Friday.

"There are still millions of people who are eligible for booster dose and have not yet received one," Walensky said.

An NBC News analysis of data from the Department of Health and Human Services finds that Covid-related hospitalizations are up 35 percent within the past two weeks, and admissions to intensive care units are up 28 percent in the same time frame.

The new studies find that a booster shot can provide robust protection against needing emergency medical care or hospitalization because of Covid-19.

In one analysis of 259 hospitals and 383 emergency departments from late August through early January, a third dose of either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine was found to reduce the odds of a hospital or emergency room visit by 94 percent during the delta wave, and by 82 percent once omicron started spreading.

The data included adults who'd received either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. The study authors were able to tease out the effects of the boosters during both the delta and omicron waves of Covid.

Here's the study concerning the effectiveness of boosters against Omicron.....

Been having this weird chest pain since the booster
Don’t know what this is
Been reading that people who got the Pfizer booster have been experiencing this too
Costochondritis
I know it’s not Myocarditis or Pericarditis
I had the latter years ago
It’s off to my right side in a localized area
Going to the doctor Monday to have some test run but he thinks that this is what’s causing my pain
Not talking anybody out of getting the vaccine or booster but kinda wish I stopped at just the two shots
Wife and daughter are fine after the booster
So that’s all I’m worried about is their health

Me and my girl been sick since monday. I tested negative, she tested positive. Went for another test this morning because we have the same symptoms and if this ain't covid I need a doctor to check me ASAP
It's weird though, sickness varies by the hour. Yesterday I had very high fever, headaches, thinking about having to go to the hospital, today I feel a bit feverish, soar throat, minor headache. Meanwhile we been eating like nothing is going on. If this is the 'mild' variant I'm glad as fukk I didn't catch it earlier.

Those highly mutated strains have been noted as coming either from other species (mink, bats, etc esp. those carrying other diseases) or from immunocompromised individuals (where it gets to benefit from a long period within their body before they fight it off [for the ones that do]).

A South African woman with HIV was infected with COVID for at least 7 months and the virus mutated in her body more than 30 TIMES
  • A South African woman, 36, with uncontrolled HIV became infected with COVID-19 in September 2020
  • She was hospitalized for nine days and continued to test positive 216 days after initially falling ill
  • Researchers found that the virus mutated inside her body 32 times, including 13 changes to the spike protein the virus used to enter and infect cells
  • Six months after she became ill, two of her three medications she was taking to treat her HIV were switched
  • Her viral loads finally became suppressed and she tested negative for COVID-19 233 days after her first test
Researchers in South Africa have documented the case of a woman with HIV who has been infected with COVID-19 for months and has seen the virus mutate inside her.

The woman, who is 36, first fell ill in September 2020 and has been testing positive for the disease for more than seven months.

What's more, the virus that continues to stay in her body has undergone more than 30 genetic changes.

The team, from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, says the findings present the first real evidence that patients with untreated HIV can have an impaired immune system that allows coronavirus to take root and mutate into potentially deadly variants that could spread to others.

Just saw this on skynews .. no video online yet ... some quotes

"COVID-19: South African doctors fear new coronavirus variants could evolve in untreated HIV population
When South Africa's hardy yet overworked health system shifted to address the COVID pandemic, the work of diagnosing people with HIV - and maintaining contact with those who already have the virus - was neglected.

New strains could evolve

Early on in the pandemic, scientists discovered that the immunocompromised tend to suffer from particularly long and severe COVID infections with prolonged periods of infectiousness.

In addition, work done by scientists in Durban has shown how COVID can mutate inside the bodies of those with untreated HIV. In one case, they traced a coronavirus sample to a 36-year-old HIV patient who was struggling to adhere to her antiretroviral treatment regime. Over the course of her seven-month COVID infection, the virus acquired 32 mutations.

A 40-year-old woman called Sylvia van Wyk stopped taking antiretroviral tablets two years ago - and when she picked up COVID, she couldn't get rid of it.

"I was so sick, I couldn't do nothing, nothing at all, my mum was there for me, she was washing me, feeding me, I couldn't do nothing for myself, nothing," she said.

Sylvia had COVID for three agonising months but when she re-started her HIV treatment, her body fought the virus off.

South African scientists warn that it is crucial that people like Sylvia continue to take their HIV treatments for fear of the development of some, "really nasty variants," in the words of one leading figure."
