How does it feel to not be able to smell anything?

I cant even imagine not being congested, but being unable to smell odors.

For me it was terrible for the most part. I had Covid back in September and my Smell was the last symptom to hit me. My lady was reading a magazine and came in the guest room to check on me. She was like "sorry if this perfume scent is strong...it was from a sample in the magazine I touched". I was like "I don't smell shyt so you good". She looked at me puzzled, came back in with a bottle of her perfume and asked me to smell it. I was like "oh shyt...i can't smell anything!!!!".

The crazy thing is...my smell just "partially' came back 3 weeks ago. It started to come and go randomly over that time. Like I couldn't smell bleach but it would tingle my nose so i knew it was something strong in the air. My youngest kid passed gas and giggled with his older brother while i was picking them up from school...i didn't smell it. But then the dog pooped on his puppy pad while I was away and I smelt it.

I can only assume the only reason my smell started to come back is bc i got my first vaccine shot 3 weeks ago.

It really is though. With Omicron spreading so efficiently, even among the vaccinated, many people will develop super immunity and the next variant won't be able to get a foothold. This is the last hurrah.

Super Immunity???? People think every wave is the last hurrah. :skip:

I know people that are vaccinated that have had COVID 2+ times now, damn near every variant. Apparently Omicron doesn’t give a fukk about natural or vaccinated immunity, no reason to believe the next variant will either. :francis:

Man I can't imagine that bro.

And it's dangerous when you think about it.

Imagine if something catches on fire in the next room. What traditionally saves ppl when whatever is burning is not in their line of sight is their sense of smell.

You can smell something burning and then you run out to see what's happening.

I've been in a fire before and I'm still paranoid about fires to this day. Not being able to smell would ramp my paranoia up to a whole new level.

It's the natural course of a pandemic. So this isn't a matter of hope, it's an inevitability.
We're just taking the least efficient, path of maximum resistance to get there.:francis:

Fred.
People forget that humanity been through pandemics that are a lot worst because of technology of that time and we made it out of it. Its just this time we have stubborn idiots on one side and overzealous paranoid draconian law pushing idiots on the other side:francis:
