You're probably going to want/need that second shot

A study conducted in the United Kingdom that was cited by the Biden administration finds that one dose of the Pfizer vaccine provided about 33% protection against the delta variant, which is officially designated B.1.617.2.

Two doses of the Pfizer vaccine, meanwhile, provided about 88% protection. The study is a pre-print and has not yet been peer reviewed. (Click here to learn more about coronavirus variants.)

Also going against the recommended dosage schedule seems to be ill advised.
I’m not saying I won’t get it, but I’m going to hold off for now. I know others who had complications after the 2nd shot (according to them), so until I work through the anxiety, I will wait. Getting the first shot was a lot.

I’m human and give myself permission to process this in a way that’s best for me. Shame, being berated, fear, misinformation, etc. all play a big part and I’m just ironing all that out. :manny:

When the vaccines first came out people had to wait months between shots.

Nothing wrong with that at all. My mother got sick after her 2nd shot. Stayed in bed the whole day. Next day she was fine.

Covid-19 will ‘be with us forever,’ warn Whitty and Vallance
Bleak reminder comes as prime minister forced to delay end of lockdown due to Delta variant

Two of the government’s most senior advisers have warned that coronavirus will be around “forever” – even after England finally lifts all restrictions on the delayed target date of 19 July.

Professor Chris Whitty, the chief medical officer, said at Boris Johnson’s news conference on Monday there would still be “substantial” cases of Covid after that period.

Even after all the mitigating measures to reduce risk are in place, he said, “we will have to live with this virus, which will continue to cause severe infections and kill people for the rest of our lives.”

Sir Patrick Vallance, the government’s chief scientific adviser, added: “This is a virus that’s going to be with us forever.”

Prof Whitty stressed it was important for officials to strike the right balance between protecting people and opening up society.

:patrice: #coli-science tho ...

personally I think it could possibly evolve away all by itself but that is unlikely.

US still hasn’t blocked flights from the UK

Fear monger brehs, i'm not a covid denier far from it but Boris Johnson is known for these games that bafoon is just using this as leverage to lockdown again. He's had this newly found flex of power recently how convenient a week before Christmas everything is suddenly so much more dangerous that the economy must shut after deeming it safe to open just two weeks ago after another 4 week national shutdown just ended :mjlol:

Given this, what is happening with flights to the USA from Delta-ridden UK now, and the UK doing the same with India I am now starting to consider that it might be intentional.

TPTB think it is inevitable that it will end up in their country anyway, so they just let it in and deal with the consequences.

BoJo sat by and let the Delta/Indians variant take over the UK.

Delta is in 74 countries and spreading, so maybe they just conclude that it cannot be stopped, so why fight it. If you blocked flights from UK/India it would just come in via another path.
