That CDC announcement seems to be the real turning point here in terms of morale. Everybody I'm talking to is very hopeful all the sudden.

No. For one, if you're attempting to travel then you're gonna have to get tested to get into most places that are allowing tourist and even if you test negative you'e still gonna have to follow covid rules.

Some islands are still in lockdown, so are some places in Canada. Japan still got surges and don't even get anyone started on India. US is playing like it's over when everyone who's vaccinated is still going out with their masks and social distancing whilst the ones who don't are readying up fake vaccine cards or whatever. If there's a word to describe the status more accurately it's messy :pachaha:

Why do you say this
1) bunch of people lying saying they were vaccinated will get together in mass
2) even if you are vaccinated, you can still get COVID-19 and experience symptoms but the point of the vaccine is to minimize your chances and the severity of symptoms. You are going to have people who think they are invincible running around spreading the virus if they are unknowingly positive and asymptomatic after getting vaccinated
3) it's going to be a hot summer. everyone is going to be outside trying to have as much fun as possible, meaning 1) and 2) will be happening frequently.

this summer will be the most things have been open in a while. people are eager to get out. people who are vaccinated think they are invincible combined with people who will lie about being vaccinated getting together in masse this summer could lead to a surge

Most things are open now. What can people not do now that they can do this summer?

Depending on where you are. Things are gradually opening up with some precautions. We are not completely out of the pandemic yet even though y'all are eager for it to end. All I'm saying is the summer will have a huge amount of large gathering social events because we lost last summer to COVID-19. This will give many opportunities for COVID to spread. Plus the hot weather will make it easier to have large events vs. the spring when it could be cold, chill, hot, raining, etc. depending on where you live. There was a surge last summer too.
