Some of what she says is accurate. A lot however is either overreaction or she's sensationalizing without acknowledging how much of this advice has already been incorporated. For example, she really had to reach to find somewhere that was shutting down beaches, in most places outdoor spots have been openly pretty much continuously since last summer, even in "lockdown happy" states like the west coast. Plus everyone already knew the virus could travel over 6 feet, but due to dispersal you're still obviously going to be safer the further away you are. And I have hardly heard any "pro-plexiglass messaging" and have seen literally zero use of plexiglass shields except by people who don't know what they're doing.

Not sure where you live but plexiglass shields are all over the fukking place. From hole in the wall liquor stores, to banks, to grocery stores.

And have been for the last 6 or so months.

Shields that separate two main groups, one screened and one unscreened, are a fine idea. The issue is each person being screened off into their own separate area. shyt like students being plexiglassed off into their little sections was never recommended anywhere I saw.

I haven't seen plexiglass shields of any sort in any grocery store on the west coast, except for 1% of shoppers wearing the dumb ones on the face that don't work. I admit I haven't walked into a liquor store or a bank since the pandemic began. I've seen a few little stores shield their employees from customers in one way or another, and that's fine so long as the shielding is good and both the customers and employees still have good airflow.

I don't have an opinion on how useful they are either way, just saying I live in the midwest (Missouri) and they're all over the place.
