This has to be a parody right??? Disneyworld is open??? I can’t believe there are people who make 6 figure salaries in govt and corporate positions to make the dumbest fukkin decisions or be this indecisive. Not joking at all - San Francisco set the blueprint on how NOT to handle a pandemic back in the 1900s, it’s right there and a century later nothing was learned.

Brehs, my frustration with the deniers is more desperation. We all seen this coming. We all did. We saw the raw data. We talked to tired doctors and nurses. We all saw the lack of leadership, corruption, and all those people being selfish not wearing a mask and not caring about social distance one bit.

Florida about to be burying lots of bodies.

So i know this virus can be beaten

Stay strong fla
DMV was high at one point too. But NY/DMV they shut everything down and I mean everything. The only essential business were health care facilities, pharmacies and medical care centers. No social settings were open and they enforced that strictly. Even banks were closed. The public transportation was open for essentials but reduced schedules and such. This is the first week where we are on an “official” reopening phase but at a very limited capacity. But still with that everything is by appointment, you can’t just “walk in” anywhere without calling ahead, setting a reservation or scheduling a specific time, at least in my area. Jobs here are still optioning out remote bc building occupancy is at a reduced capacity. Most people are doing a hybrid split -in office a few days and remote work the remaining days out the week. no child care or summer camps, no recreational facilities are allowed to open. Schools are looking at a hybrid remote learning/ in class schedule for fall.

They've had 4 months to think about it and they don't even have a plan to send kids back to school :dwillhuh:

The secretary of education can't even bring herself to agree with CDC guidelines on kids returning to class :patrice:

The ass kissing of Trump in lieu of protecting people's health should get all these people locked up after January ... fukking cowards

it's damn near diabolical. forcing schools to open and not extending the stimulus to force an economic recovery. well we about to find out how the economy would have fared if we never shut anything down; Will it get worse, stay relatively the same or improve while thousands get sick and unknown number of more people die?

Sweden has become the world’s cautionary tale
This is what has happened: Not only have thousands more people died than in neighboring countries that imposed lockdowns, but Sweden’s economy has fared little better.

“They literally gained nothing,” said Mr Jacob F. Kirkegaard, a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington. “It’s a self-inflicted wound, and they have no economic gains.”

FTA:
The coronavirus does not stop at national borders. Despite the government’s decision to allow the domestic economy to roll on, Swedish businesses are stuck with the same conditions that produced recession everywhere else. And Swedish people responded to the fear of the virus by limiting their shopping — not enough to prevent elevated deaths but enough to produce a decline in business activity.

Here is one takeaway with potentially universal import: It is simplistic to portray government actions such as quarantines as the cause of economic damage. The real culprit is the virus itself. From Asia to Europe to the Americas, the risks of the pandemic have disrupted businesses while prompting people to avoid shopping malls and restaurants, regardless of official policy.

Crazy thing is since the virus is politicized, the only way to fix this is to take it further.

All they need to do is say "this virus is a biological attack", and all these MAGA supporters will mask up immediately. The downside is we would go to war with China. It's the only way for America to save face.

I'm calling it now! If this pandemic is as apocalyptic as it seem, America is going down swinging. When the leaders realize there's no other way to get this under control the propaganda will switch to this being an attack. Then people will mask up.
Not to go off on too much of a tangent, but one of my biggest concerns has been us getting hit by a terrorist attack. Like on a 9/11 type scale. Economy already in the dumps due to corona. Imagine combining that with the damage of a terrorist attack. America would be in deep trouble:lupe:
