Countries with universal health care can open up and have everyone wear masks and carry hand sanitizer and pretty much open all the way back up.

Countries without essentially create a soft genocide, especially if they're not providing economic relief. What's happening is completely insane and specific to America.

This really is a soft genocide. Especially the demographics of whom that are dying.

Mother was telling me some interesting stories about people's feeling at the hospital regarding covid. A few nurses she knows decided to take up that New York offer to go help. They were offering stupid ass money for nurses to travel there and help. They worked 12 hour days for I think she said three weeks.

There is now a schism. She already told me that there are people who didn't believe the virus was as serious as projected, including a fellow doctor or two. There were quite a few nurses who are typically right wing white Karen types who spouted all the typical lines about it being blown up by democrats and what not. Now that some of the nurses actually saw the worse of it up close, now when some of the nurses who stayed bring up how it's overblown, the nurses who went to New York are quick to say how this shyt is serious and no way fake. She said one woman said it was real to her when she had to help stack a dead patient into a refrigerated truck and that isn't something she had to do before.

Again, just found it interesting and further cements my belief how a lot of people lack the ability to empathize and quick to discount shyt until it hits them directly. I don't know what the opinions of the nurses who went to NY before going but, again my mom told me there is a new level of seriousness about it among the nurses who went.
like i been sayin when this shyt started getting serious ppl dont give a fukk till shyt hit they door its like death...its sad but that's how a lot of ppl (esp whites) operate they think they got 9 lives or some shyt...most prob think death fake the way they go about life

Houston opened to 75% capacity on Friday, but it may not last long. Officials are cautioning that they may need to order people back home and open a COVID-19 hospital at NRG Stadium as coronavirus cases surge in the nation’s fourth-largest city.

“I’m growing increasingly concerned that we may be approaching the precipice — the precipice of a disaster,” said Lina Hidalgo, the Harris County judge who is the top official for the county’s five million residents.
