What everyone should have spent the last 2-3 months doing, instead of binging Netflix on the couch while ingesting cupboards full of chips and snacks and drinking sugary ass juices and sodas. Sitting there reading every article talking about the much increased likelihood of dying if you’re unhealthy and doing nothing about it , when there was literally Nothing else to do :heh:

Not true.

As far as my comment. The comment was because a major fortune 500 DoD company that currently has the biggest contract in the history of the world (F-35, 400 billion plus dollars). Has operators, mechanics and technicians protesting.

This is also the facility that makes said plane (F-35), and ships the planes out to allies all over the world (the F-35 is now the most exported defense weapon in the world) with a blue color staff that are union workers. Who also has a history of going on strike at this very same facility.

Included in this equation is a White house with a president and administration that is pro defense, has stated that the coronavirus is a threat to national security and has said the F-35 program is too big for funding to be cut and must meet schedule deadlines (not just deadlines with the navy and airforce, but deadlines all across the world).

Thats why this is potentially big news!

It is the truth. There wasn't any concern about workers/working until the states started talking about "opening up" the economy. The people at home knew that if businesses are allowed to reopen, large corporations would want their workforce to return to the very expensive and empty real estate and potentially expose themselves to the virus which has not and is not going anywhere. Now all of a sudden people are worried about the workforce because they now realize every class of worker will eventually be sacrificed one way or another to keep the Capitalist machine chugging a few precious years longer.

I get it, people don't want to expose themselves or their families to the virus. And if they do, they definitely don't want it to be because they went to work. But these same people don't care about certain other segments of society taking on that same risk for their convenience. But they will pretend to if it means they can save their own hides a bit longer.

Meanwhile

The US is preparing to publicly disassociate itself from language in a World Health Organization resolution that will back the right of poor countries to ignore patents in order to gain access to a Covid-19 vaccine or treatment.

Many governments, particularly in Africa, fear they will be squeezed out by richer countries unless they can force companies that discover anti-Covid therapies to share their intellectual property with manufacturers able to produce them cheaply at scale.

African ambassadors in Geneva, where the WHO is based, said US diplomats had sought to persuade them to support a dilution of language in the resolution, but that they had refused

:unimpressed:
I hope China finds the vaccine first

As I said breh thats not true. I work with blue color workers and white color workers from engineers to managers to technicians to operators and inspectors that have been going into work. Either on rotating shifts, monday thru friday or come in once to twice a week. Everyone isn't working from home. Some like myself are able to due to the product or project we are on. But many still go into work.

The difference is that at my job folks felt that the company has taken the proper procedures to protect folks.

Secondly as I mentioned Lockheed in Forth worth is a union based facility. All the blue color workers are union based. They have throughout history at the facility have no problem protesting or going on strike. This is a fact and well known.

Last if you know anything and I mean anything about mass plane production these folks work constantly from sun up to sun down and the facility is open 24/7. Many of those union folks there were probably there at the height of the war on terror after 9/11 and even during desert storm in the 90s. During that time they were literally working 2 and 3 months straight without a day off. So this whole mumbo jumbo that they got some cushy job while working on the flight line building tons of planes a month is BS.

Also Lockheed Never SHUT DOWN in fort worth the facility has been open and the workers have been working the entire time during the pandemic cause as I said the F-35 (plus other programs) is considered national security and deadlines must be met? Or did you ignore that part?

You must not know that DoD workers (and the programs they work on) are considered essential?
