Not many cacs where I live. Mostly hispanics and blacks, and everyone is masked up. I was at Lowes and Micro Center last Saturday and everyone was wearing them.
Just spoke with a senior member of operations for Purdue chicken that is a customer of a dealership I work with. She happened to be in the showroom when I got there and we hadn't seen each other since before the pandemic here. We were talking about her job and how things are going on the logistics side of things.
There is PLENTY of meat. As a lot of us have been speculating, they're having a bytch of a time re-coordinating the distribution. The other problem is available staff.
She said the plants basically turned into construction sites, where you have to see who shows up on any given day which then determines what cuts of meat are going to be focused on that day.

Early on when people were just starting wearing masks I would only see blacks masked up. I remember telling my wife how damn near it was only us wearing them. It feels good to see us take this seriously, for the most part.
The reason I asked is because we have one major grocery store here, HEB and I went to the one in a mixed race side of town and it was mandatory you had a mask on or you couldn't go in. I went to the same grocer on the upscale side of town and there was no mask policy at all and a lot of people without masks

I'm surprised that people here in NJ are complying. Or it could just be us here in the Metro NYC area. One good thing I saw is that at Micro Center, instead of having people wait in line to get outside, they using this application called Wait While. They take your contact information, let you know how long your wait is, and send you a text when it's your turn to go in the store. So I just chilled in the car playing my Switch. Once inside all the employees were wearing masks and gloves, and they had someone at the door to squirt sanitizer in your hands.
