because they/we haven’t dealt with nothing like this in a long time...Only one I had experience with was swine flu when I was in Germany....The H1NI I honestly don’t even recall. The Ebola barely seemed relevant to me in the states and I was in charge of some type of WMD/Response reconnaissance platoon during the time but we never got the call.

Maybe you didn't really hear about h1n1 because it was being handled and not allowed to spiral out of control. 12k Americans died from it over a year time period however. H1N1 is the same virus responsible for 1918 flu pandemic so it had the ability to get out of control. A lot more was done out the gate to handle it to make sure it didn't get crazy. The pandemic response team and playbook for pandemics came about because of this and of course Trump got rid of both because it was something Obama did.

I always like to post these videos of Obama during H1N1 because it helps highlight the contrast with this administration response when this first started.

Imagine knowing someone you loved who passed away was lying in a pile of bodies somewhere. I genuinely feel like crying right now thinking about that. That was somebody’s baby once...the thought of their parent holding them in their arms in the past, not knowing how that baby would leave this earth someday. It’s just too much to ponder...and I’m left feeling guilty just because it hasn’t happened to me...that’s how f*cked up this all this. I’ll make sure to remember that photo the next time I have the f*ckin’ audacity to complain about some minor bullsh*t in my life.

it was like mid April and nostradamus was sitting there thinking he had the projections for this thing nailed down months in advance, got it all predicted all through summer...then a couple weeks pass and each and everyone one of those dumbass projections in those tweets about to be blown by (if not already blown by)

My sister in laws grandmother caught it at her nursing home. fukked up thing is her fam put her in there because they didn’t want to take care of her even though she’s relatively healthy for being 93 years old. She could still get around on her own but needed some extra care. Just found out from my brother she’s not doing well and being moved to hospice.

She wouldn’t be in that position if it wasn’t for this muthafukkin virus.

I don’t know barrack handled everything with a degree of professionalism I highly doubt trump would ever master...But for me to sit here and act like I would of made all of the correct decisions I’d be lying... I was in Germany for H1N1 and it was always referred to as Swine Flu. And Ebola didn’t really have a rampant impact on North America...Compared to Covid for example..I have no doubt that Barrack would of handled this better based on how he dealt with most other things.

and even if it didn’t go well he still would of been professional enough to listen to the experts and than make an informed unemotional decision.

exactly, i'm sorry but we can't stay in lockdown for two years. the economy would never recover and the mental illness rates will be drastic, heck physically it's not good.

Still think people would have been better off if masks, gloves and other preventitive measures were mandated rather than shutting everything down and destroying the economy while killing 60K+ people.
