There's no way I could see Trump getting re-elected at this point. He fukked up the response and is making this considerably worse.

The only thing he had to run on was a great economy and low unemployment. Now that the economy is in the trash and unemployment is at like 25% and tens of millions are out of work, that's over.

If he didn't destroy the Obama era pandemic response team in 2018, fire CDC officials in China who knew about this in January, and locked down this country in January instead of late March, we would of never gotten to this point.

This is worse than GW with Iraq and Afghanistan. Those soldiers signed up to enlist in that war. This fukk up is killing average american citizens even those who support him. The collateral damage from this is brutal.

Please do not ever tell me shyt about "both sides". This virus shouldn't of been politicized or divided across partisan lines but Trump and the GOP did everything to ignore warnings while calling it a hoax from the Democrats to take him down, and actively diverting funds that would of been used in this pandemic towards that damn racist wall that will never be built and his own pockets as well as his cronies.

We ain't going back to "normal" after this. Trump thinks he can start the economy up and reopen the country by May 1st. He wants to get people killed deliberately through his negligence. That's the only thing I can think of in this situation. All of these out of work people aren't magically going to find jobs. Some of these businesses that were already in the hole are definitely not going to reemerege after recording record losses after the fact. There is no vaccine so the possibility of there being second waves and third waves of the virus is high.

We've only tested less than 1% of the population of this country and testing is still not widely available. And what about all of the THOUSANDS grieving people that lost family members due to CV19? Are they just supposed to "suck it up" and go back to work? What about the doctors and nurses that have had to deal with all these CV deaths? They are going to need therapy, counseling, and will struggle with PTSD for the rest of their lives as well as depression. Nobody is going to want to go to large sports gatherings with this still around, or concerts, or car shows, or the mall, or whatever with big gatherings. The coronavirus might of just fukked this country over for generations to come along with Trump.

I agree with you, but there's an argument that will be made that the masses need those distractions. It'll be those with a vested interest in those money streams starting back up making the argument, but that won't make it any less true. For the entire shebang to function you need the numbers out and working. All it'd take is for 20% of people give up and stay on unemployment and then things will get very lively very quickly.

We would've been fukked over no matter what unless the virus was stopped at the very beginning and that wasn't anything that we could've done. Going back to "normal" isn't really something we could do, but who knows what normal will be in the future and how we can adapt after this. Things have happened thru out history and life has moved on afterwards and even gotten better in general. Just gotta get used to a new way of doing things or finding out how it could be done. It'll take time to get the economy back fully recovered, and yeah the loss of loved ones and stress put on the medical professionals is going to hurt but eventually things will get better and go back to normal somehow.
