Dog tests 'weak positive' for Covid-19: AFCD

The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) said on Friday that a pet dog belonging to a person with the coronavirus has tested "weak positive" for Covid-19.

The AFCD said it received a referral from the Health Department on Wednesday about the animal, and picked it up from a Tai Hang flat and sent it to a facility at the Hong Kong Port of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. It said the dog was tested and nasal and oral cavity samples tested weak positive for the coronavirus.

"The dog does not have any relevant symptoms," the AFCD said.

It said the animal is the only dog in quarantine at the facility and staff are stepping up disinfection of the premises.

The AFCD said it had no evidence that pets could be infected with Covid-19 virus or that they could be a source of infection to people, but advised people with the coronavirus to put their pets in quarantine.

If you know anything about the Spanish Flu, then you know our world leaders are failing us like they failed out ancestors. They lied and did everything they could to downplay that virus. And here we are 100 years later. The hubris of our leaders can change the very fabric of our societies for the foreseeable future. It's becoming more and more clear that both China and the US value the stock market more then they value human lives, and both are willing to risk human lives to ensure the elites pockets stay lined. shyt I wouldn't put it past them to use this to create a 100% automated factory work force to ensure we never wind up in a situation where human illness stops the machine, and doing away with paper currency as that is going to be one of the methods of virus transfer. Regardless, with each passing hour, it seems more and more like we're fukked...

Killer Chinese coronavirus 'may be passed through SALIVA' as outbreak reaches Taiwan, death toll rises to six and 300 patients are struck down - and experts predict mystery disease will continue to spread
  • Chinese officials yesterday confirmed the virus has spread between humans
  • Fifteen healthcare workers have caught the respiratory virus, figures show
  • A total of 313 people in Asia have now tested positive for the unnamed virus
  • Three other countries have reported cases - Thailand, Japan and South Korea
  • Three more deaths have been announced today, taking the death toll to six
The deadly Chinese coronavirus that has sickened more than 300 people could be passed through saliva, officials today suggested.

China’s National Health Commission yesterday confirmed that the never-before-seen coronavirus had spread between humans.

And now the official body has revealed the unnamed infection is spread from the lungs and may travel in saliva – such as through coughs.

Taiwan today confirmed its first case of the lethal bug, which has killed six people in the Chinese city of Wuhan, home to 11million people.
