Update on this:
The people that were let go, were not just laid off. Those were terminations. Their roles have been eliminated from the company completely, which tells me this had to be in the works for some time before this. There's no way one week of bad sales causes you to terminate >25% of your workforce in a single day. Feels like it just sped up the process.
We just got the follow up e-mail too. On top of the reduction in work force, they will be reducing our work schedule via unpaid furlough. So, we might not be completely fired but a lot of our asses won't be making money for a while depending on when they decide to follow through on that.
Also, they killed the 401k match. Disgusting

Dude has been warning people for about 5 years now that this would happen way before all the hype so I wouldn’t exactly call him a gatekeeper. Yeah I saw the comments too and looks more like typical internet mob mentality with a whole bunch of people making accusations without posting any evidence to back it up. When Osterholm did that video it was before all the lockdowns and high number of cases so people were calling him a fear mongerer At the time but so far he’s been spot on with everything he said would happen.
