Will they ever learn? Chinese markets are still selling bats and slaughtering rabbits on blood-soaked floors as Beijing celebrates 'victory' over the coronavirus
Chinese markets are still selling bats | Daily Mail Online

The market in Guilin was packed with shoppers yesterday, with fresh dog and cat meat on offer, a traditional 'warming' winter dish.

The novel coronavirus, which causes the respiratory disease COVID-19, has become the No. 3 cause of death in the U.S., following heart disease and cancer.

According to a new graph published by Dr. Maria Danilychev, who practices in San Diego, COVID-19 has moved past accidents, chronic lung disease, strokes, Alzheimer's, diabetes, flu and pneumonia, and kidney disease as the third most likely cause of death in the U.S.

The graph uses data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the daily average cause of death and compares this with COVID-19 statistics from Worldometers.info. According to the graph, 748 people per day die from COVID-19 in the U.S., compared with 1,641 cancer deaths and 1,774 heart disease fatalities.

Coronavirus is the No. 3 cause of death in the U.S., after heart disease and cancer

South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Vietnam are also in close proximity with China and know their tactics first hand. Taiwan specifically is viewed as part of China despite having declared its independence. They knew on Day 0, that whatever China said could not be trusted. It's ok to not know everything, but throwing around patently false claims is worse. The geopolitical tension in the region is why some responded better than others.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about proximity has nothing to do with how each country responded to this.

First, Taiwan hasn't declared independence.

Singapore and South Korea have no tension with China. Taiwan and China have tension.

It has everything to do from learning from past mistakes and making sure it doesn't happen again. H1N1, SARS, MERS all happened there. They have had practice in responding to a virus crisis. Thing is America had the same viruses floating around at the same time as H1N1, SARS, MERS and even Ebola. The only difference with the countries you mentioned is they acted quickly American didn't plain and simple!
