Checking back in...

After messing around with my phone (EVOLTE) I'm considering swapping it out for a GS3 depending on my options. I know LTE is turned on in my neighborhood however, after the 21st hit, I wasn't able to get a connection. I had to turn my phone off and reboot it to connect. Even then, it couldn't hold the signal.

I've been reading up on the issue and a lot of people have experienced this with the phone as well. Many have compared it to the new iPhone and GS3 and both can hold the signal fine, while the EVO just can't find it, or has to be fooled around with to get it.

However, this workaround has seemed to be working for me, type in *#*#4636#*#* and toggle the radio to LTE, CDMA. I connected to the 4G tower right away after doing this. Speeds aren't all that (2.5mb and like 4 up) but it's better than the abysmal 3G that was being used. I'll see how consistent it holds the signal before seeing about swapping phones...

Chicagoland people with Sprint, I'm seeing a lot more LTE the past few weeks.

My neighborhood has towers up, (I'm in the south burbs) I went out through Bolingbrook and to Downer's Grove today and my phone was basically on LTE the entire time.
