One in five men think that they would be able to beat a chimpanzee in a fight.
A new survey has found that 22 per cent of men could defeat a chimp in combat, with a similar number backing themselves to come out on top while wrestling lethal king cobras.
Experts say males would stand little chance against chimpanzees, which are four times stronger than humans because of their denser muscle fibre.
The animals are also surprisingly quick and aggressive.
Jan Garen, the owner of Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary, said: "A man would stand no chance at all.
"A chimp will go for your eyes so you can’t see, then hands so you can’t fight back.
"People forget that chimps can bite. And they are very fast."
Expert Sarah Bell added: "Chimpanzees have been known to tear off people’s faces and leave men with a little less manhood than they had before the encounter."

Reminds me of that cat that got grabbed by a female orangutan. Dude was completely helpless. I don't know if chimps are stronger than orangutans, but they certainly have a higher capacity for violence. They run the fade on one another on the daily, and will take it all the way until their opponent is lying in pool of their own blood. Biting fingers, gouging eyes, and such. Only way you are winning, or rather surviving a chimp is having an equalizer on you in the form of sharpened steel or a firearm of caliber no less than .357.
