So you think a good looking white athletic guy who had springs in his shoes who and can score when he wanted couldn't be more marketable then Blake today?

Tom would be doing McDonalds and Kraft commercial like no other.

..... So you think he's good looking?:leon: I didn't take that into account when making my analysis. But hey it works for tennis

I agree with that but Birdman isn't close to a star breh

Im using Chris Anderson to prove that just being white in a aa male dominated game is only part of his draw. Tha tats, hair, and on court character makes him more appealing to fans thus a more noticable player than say a Kevin Love type player who just puts up numbers. The ? is could Tom Chambers be a star in today's NBA. No.... he be JJ Redikk wit lift.

The ignorance in this thread is chilling. Yall really showing yall age in here. nikkas calling the 80s and 90s the garbage era...:stopitslime:

Tom could finish and run the floor and shoot at 6'10. He stayed hurt too much though. By the time Barkley got to Phoenix, injuries had already taken its toll. He only had about 5 years of doing the damn thing. He was getting 18 with BS point guards and had to share the rock. When Nate got to Seattle, he was feeding Tom and got him up to about 24 points a night.

Tom was getting it in the long way. Hand checking, No BS zones and p*ssy foul calls back then neither.

Tom would average 25 and 7 when healthy in today's game and like someone else said he'd have a max contract easily.

This all hypothetical and cannot be proven whatsoever btw. But he would be able to play in today's league.

from what league sources tell me is that Tom Chambers probably would not be a star today due to the fact that he is 53 years of age, and the only mention of Chambers this offseason thus far has been when the Magic tried to move Dwight Howard in return for him only for the Magic to find out he has been retired

Amar'e is a star player, or was

I don't see why Chambers couldn't. They were similar players, although Chambers is a more complete scorer.

amare averages 9 boards, and he's an awful rebounder.

amare is WAY better than him. chambers is about as one-dimensional as you can get.

Well I said similar, both dudes were shyt rebounders and defenders for their height and athletic ability. But Chambers was a more complete scorer than Amar'e has ever been. He was getting his buckets with bad point guards earlier in his career.

If Amar'e is valued, I dont see why the Caucasian forefather of his game wouldnt.

The replies in this thread have me :snoop: First of all, IMO and in the opinion of anyone who actually saw Chambers play in his prime know he would be a star in todays NBA. Maybe the problem here is 'star' hasnt been defined on this topic. To me, a star is a 2nd tier player. An All-star, but 2nd tier. like Joe Johnson. Or a fringe All-star like Monta Ellis and Josh Smith. Superstars are your 1 name cats like Kobe, Bron, MELO, etc. Or initials with or without jersey # dudes like D12, CP3, & KD. I don't even know Joe Johnson's fukkin jersey #. Or Monta Ellis. 87 Tom Chambers is probably a top 5 PF today. Stretch 4's are hot on the streets too? Yeah Tommy's makin max money out chea...

Chambers put up numbers on bad teams. He was a chucker.

I beg to differ... Those Suns teams of the late 80s were legit. They regularly won 55+ games, and had three dudes averaging 20+ ppg. Far from being a bad team. They would have been real threats to take the West had it not been for a certain team in LA. Not bad teams at all, and Chambers was the main dude scoring for em.
