Could I watch The Winter Soldier first, do I have to see the first movie?

I wouldnt say its necessary if you just want to watch the action

but the sequel really does improve upon the first, that it makes it look better than it was

the first movie is made in the vein of Lucas/spielberg, but doesnt deliver as say an indiana jones movie, its more like "A New Hope" (the special edition)

I fell asleep the first time I watched Cap 1It's on TV every now and then and all I remember is the beginning where they turn him into Captain America and then him and his boy on a train. Winter Soldier was certified piff for the most part but I'm sure really watching and paying attention to the first one would help

First one is batman begins to the second ones dark knight....id watch it first, as it sets up the second one. First one is very good, and is cool to see a superhero movies set in the 40's. Second one is up there with the best comic book movies

You need to watch the 1st one so you know who certain people are and their relevance in the 2nd one so definitely watch it but hurry up and watch finish so you can see the piff that is Winter Soldier.

You don't have to watch it, but I would because it shows you the heart of Steve Rogers of being a good man and someone that sticks to his beliefs. That's something that stays true throughout MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).

I skipped the original and watched The Winter Soldier. Still enjoyed it and will probably never watch the first one.

If you ain't see the first flick you definitely wouldn't feel no emotional attachment between Steve and Peggy in TWS. Especially after seeing this seen after the first one into the first Avengers Flick.

Didn't like the first one and you don't really need to watch it to watch the sequel. However I would say you should as there are some big moments in the second one that wont have the same payoff if you're not a comic reader or didn't watch the first film.

If you're just a casual action fan you don't need the first one. But no way a MCU fan should skip it. You got Tony Stark's pops...makes Agent Carter series an interesting watch, and with Scarlett Witch's powers I wouldn't be surprised if both of them wind up in Avengers 2
