This is fukking stupid. Privately owned urgent care clinics are not like ERs in accessibility but also capability. If you read the article, the employee told the kid when they found out they didn't have insurance to go to the ER. He got to the ER, went into cardiac arrest and died six hours later. Even if the urgent care clinic took him in, they probably wouldn't have the equipment to treat someone who was as seriously ill as him. Further, when you go to an urgent care clinic, you sign a form right away and take your information. If you don't have insurance, they'll tell you you have to pay cash or options where you can go to get free care. It's not like they knew he had Covid19. They simply followed protocol.

The mayor is an idiot for even mentioning this.
The biggest takeaway from the story is that a 17 year old child went into cardiac arrest from a virus that we were told for weeks primarily affects seniors and those with debilitating or immune deficient diseases.

Agreed. But you'd have to read the story to get that which a lot of people will not.

That tweet misrepresented the story.

it’s what they do in eastern cultures. Old ppl who had a full life volunteered to clean up the nuclear mess, which essentially was a suicide mission.

They also don’t try to “stay alive” so much later in life. They just accept their fate, that’s why their healthcare costs are lower as well. fukk right being trolls, but in some cultures this is normal and somewhat expected

The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has a message for Americans wondering when their lives can start going back to normal.

"You can’t make an arbitrary decision until you see what you’re dealing with,” Fauci said Wednesday on CNN. “You need the data.”
