Reverend Horton Heat Says ‘They Can’t Stop Rock,’ Aren’t Canceling Shows

Reverend Horton Heat Says ‘They Can’t Stop Rock and Roll,’ Aren’t Canceling Any Shows

As the saying goes, the show must go on, even in the face of a global pandemic. Ignoring every piece of available advice on how to stem the outbreak of the coronavirus, popular psycho-billy band The Reverend Horton Heat has declared that they will not be canceling any performances, simply because “they can’t stop rock and roll.” Lead singer Jim Heath announced the decision to keep rocking and rolling on the band’s Facebook page, writing that anyone who might be wary of gathering in large groups was in danger of becoming “sheeple to authoritarian government.”

Any cancellations that occur, according to Heath, will be due to promoters canceling the event. He also urges the band’s fans and “everyone who lives in a jurisdiction where local governments are restricting rock and roll to push back.” While governments certainly can’t stop rock and roll, they absolutely can shut down venues where rock and roll is performed, in effect stopping rock and roll. But sure, go off, Jim!

I just had a thought. Covid-19 slows in warm weather right? Come May when it's nice out and there are fewer cases going around people are going to :whew: think it's over. What I'm worried about is that while there are few cases things are going to go 'back to normal' so to speak. Bigger social gatherings and more chances for the few cases of 'rona to spread again, a second boom period for it :lupe:
Its pretty hot in Iran and they’ll probably be the worst off of everyone in this pandemic.

At this point it’s a matter of how much time are they gonna waste and lives they are gonna put at risk before we go into national lockdown.

We all know that’s where we are heading and that’s the only way to flatten the curve as this thing is pretty much everywhere.

Everybody gonna be mad and it’s gonna be a clunky roll out but better to just get it over with now.

I had to fly from CHI O'Hare to Newark NJ last Friday and spent the weekend chillin with fam and friends in crowded bars and restaurants until I flew home on Sunday.

Started feeling a bug in my throat that night....thought it was due to excess partying :francis:

Monday morning took the train to my office in downtown Chicago and felt full blown sick. Had a happy hour/dinner Monday in another crowded restaurant and couldn't cancel (I'm in sales). I've been bed ridden since Tues morning and only left the house to go to the doctor. They didnt have the tests so I've been home fighting "flu like symptoms" :lupe:

I feel much better today but blame myself for telling everyone for weeks how serious this is, yet ignoring my own warnings by flying twice, riding mass transit and attending multiple large gatherings. I'm not going to be selfish again. My wife stocked up everything we need and I've cancelled all sales meetings last week and this week. I'm working from home and going to continue to quarantine myself through this thing

It's serious and its scary. Stay safe and healthy brehs
